Ferroboron is a ferroalloy composed primarily of boron and iron, also containing impurities such as aluminum, silicon, carbon, manganese, and copper. It has a melting temperature range of 1400–1550°C and a density of 5.8–6.5 g/cm³. Ferroboron serves as a boron additive in steelmaking, cast iron production, and the manufacture of amorphous alloys and magnetic materials.

Product Classification

Ferroboron is divided into two main categories according to carbon content:

Product Grades and Chemical Composition

Ferroboron has multiple grades classified by the contents of boron, carbon and impurities. In accordance with GB/T 5682-2015 Standard, the grade naming rule is as follows: FeB stands for ferroboron, the number represents the boron content range, and the suffix C refers to the maximum carbon content. The main grades and chemical compositions are listed below (in accordance with GB/T 5682-2015 Standard and steel mill purchasing technical specifications):
